How do I insert subscripts or superscripts in my text?

PlayPlay allows you to add special characters, such as subscripts or superscripts, to your text blocks by copying and pasting them directly.

For example, you can write:

• m²
• cm²
• CO₂
• H₂O

To save time, you can copy and paste the most common characters directly:

Common superscripts:
¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ ⁹ ⁰ 

Common subscripts:
₁ ₂ ₃ ₄ ₅ ₆ ₇ ₈ ₉ ₀ 

If you need another character, you can use a free generator:

• Subscript generator

Type the text you need in the field on the left, then copy the result displayed on the right.

In your PlayPlay project:

1. Open the creation studio.
2. Select the text block where you want to add the subscript or superscript.
3. Paste the copied character using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V on Windows or Cmd + V on Mac.
4. Check the result in the PlayPlay preview.

Some characters may appear as a square (□) or may not display correctly.

This usually means that the font you are using does not support this special character. This can happen with some custom fonts imported into your branding.

If the character does not display correctly, you can try one of these solutions:

• Change the font: use a font that supports the special characters you need. For example, Proxima Nova Bold, PlayPlay’s default font, supports several common subscripts and superscripts.
• Create a visual alternative: add a dynamic Text element for the character concerned, reduce its size, then place it above or below the main text to simulate a superscript or subscript.

You can also use a keyboard shortcut to type some special characters:
