How do I generate an automatic subtitle translation?

To generate an automatic translation of subtitles to add to your interview video:

  • It is necessary to have previously used a screen that provides this feature (here is the list of all screens concerned), and to have integrated media into it. For example, Subtitles screens from the Interview & Quotes category:

  • Go to the Subtitles tab of your screen and click on the Automatic subtitles button.

  • In the window that opens, activate the Translate option, then select the language to translate to from the drop-down list.

  • You can also enable Generate for the entire project to automatically generate subtitles for all eligible screens in your video.

  • Then click on Translate and wait for the subtitles to appear.

If the timing is not convenient, you can use the subtitle editor to choose exactly when to make each subtitle appear.

  • If you have already generated automatic subtitles or written subtitles, you won't be able to translate them automatically. But you can delete all the subtitles and start again by choosing the automatic translation option.
  • If the sound quality of your interview is poor or it is difficult to hear the interviewee, it is possible that the automatic subtitles are incorrect or incomplete.
