PlayPlay allows you to easily add sound effects to your videos, making them more dynamic and engaging.

Whether you want to enhance a transition, highlight a key moment, or reinforce an emotion, you can enrich your video in just a few clicks using our sound effects library or by uploading your own sounds.

1. Choose a sound effect from the library

From the left-hand menu, open the Audio section, then go to the Sound Effects tab. Browse the available effects or use the search bar to find the one you need. Preview them using the Play button, then click the “+” button on the right to add the sound effect to your video.

2. Add an imported sound effect

  • From the left-hand menu, open the Audio section, then go to the Sound Effects tab. Drag and drop your audio file into the Import area.

  • Once your audio is imported and visible in your library, click the three dots (Actions), then select Add to video.

Note: You can add multiple sound effects to the same video. Simply import the files you need and add them to your project.

3. Manage and adjust sound effects

👉 Choose when the sound effect plays

You can place your sound effect anywhere in your video.

To do so, once the effect is selected:

  • Go to the sound effects track on the timeline.

  • Select the effect, then drag and drop it while holding the left mouse button to the desired position in your video.

Note: If multiple effects are selected, they will move together.

👉 Trim or split a sound effect

  • Go to the sound effects track on the timeline.

  • In the timeline, drag the edges of the clip to keep only a specific portion:

    • Drag the left edge to the right to trim the beginning,

    • Drag the right edge to the left to trim the end.

  • You can also split a sound effect into multiple clips. Place the playhead where you want, then click the Split (scissors) icon.

👉  Adjust the volume of a sound effect

You can adjust the volume of your sound effects:

  • Individually: once the effect is added, click Sound Effects Settings.

  • For all effects in the project: click Sound Effects Settings, then Apply to all effects.

Note: You can also access these settings by clicking directly on a sound effect in the timeline.

👉 Duplicate a sound effect

In the timeline, select the sound effect you want to duplicate, then click Duplicate.

👉 Delete one or more sound effects

There are two ways to delete a sound effect:

  • From the Sound Effects tab, in the Added section, click the Remove from video (trash icon) next to the effect you want to delete.

  • From the timeline, select the sound effect, then click the trash icon.

Useful keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl (PC) or Cmd (Macbook) + click: select or deselect multiple sound effects individually.

  • Shift + click: select multiple sound effects and move them together.

Their relative positions are preserved during movement. If any selected clip collides with another element, the entire selection stops at the first obstacle.
