Favor on your own media
Even if they don't fit 100% with the idea of your screen, they will always be more appreciated than a stock image or video. It will bring a more personal touch to your video and will highlight your company and brand image.
If you don't have the possibility to use your own media, you can find it in the stock.
Search the stock with precision
Here are some basic rules of thumb for successful searches:
🔷 Keep your sequences short: no more than 4 words in your searches.
🔷 Put words in context: we'll write "office window" rather than "window".
🔷 Prefer images with a person rather than an object alone (and don't forget about diversity and inclusivity) 😉
To do an accurate search, use the search filters.
Our tips for finding relevant media in stock
🔷 Vary your searches for a single topic.
To find content relevant to your topic, do several types of searches: your exact topic first, then by theme, by emotion, by situation... Also test multiple synonyms and keywords on the same topic.
➡️ For sustainable development, also search windmill, forest or wind for example.
🔷 Find backgrounds or neutral backgrounds.
You can look for colors (gradient, red, rainbow), materials (wood, paper), places (park, mall) or animations (confetti, globe, water droplet), that you can use as a background to write your text.
🔷 Look for stock media based on emotions.
They help convey the emotion you want to evoke or adjust the tone of your video.
➡️ Use a gif of a surprised person to support an amazing fact for example.
Avoid generic content
The media you choose is as important as the written content. Try to vary the media you use and avoid media that are too generic, ordinary-looking, or look too much like stock media : a high five to represent teamwork or a dart hitting a target to illustrate a goal to be achieved.
If you think you've seen a stock photo or video in a blog post or on LinkedIn before, keep searching 😉
